Point Cook’s location, amenities, lifestyle and vibrant growth make it a great place to live.

About Point Cook
In 1996, Point Cook’s population was approximately 580, 552 of whom lived on the RAAF Williams Base. By the time of the 2006 Australian Census, the population had increased to 14,162. Today, Point Cook is one of the fastest growing regions in Melbourne’s western suburbs. Given current growth trends, it is expected that the suburb’s population will increase to 41,474 by 2016.

Shopping
The newly constructed Point Cook Town Centre is located at the corner of Boardwalk Boulevard and Dunnings Road, Point Cook. Stage 1 of the development includes a Coles, Aldi, Target, Dick Smith and up to 135 specialty shops. Stage 2, opening late 2009, will include a Harris Scarfe department store and 40 specialty retail stores including a 450 seat food court and purpose built Town Square.

Transport
Point Cook is conveniently located to the south of the Princess Freeway and is serviced by the Palmers Road, Forsyth Road and Point Cook Road exits. Melbourne’s Central Business District is just a 22km drive away.

Nearby railway stations at Laverton and Aircraft on the Werribee line provide easy access to the city centre. A Point Cook railway station, located west of Palmers Road, is proposed to start construction in 2010.

Education
Access to a range of fine educational facilities makes Point Cook an ideal choice for families. Schools that service the area include:

  • Carranballac College (Prep to Year 12 government school with three campuses)
  • Emmanuel College: Notre Dame Campus (Roman Catholic Secondary School)
  • Point Cook Primary School
  • Lumen Christi School (Point Cook Catholic Primary School)
  • Seabrook Primary School
  • Point Cook Senior Secondary College (Years 10 to 12)
  • Point Cook West Catholic Primary School (Stella Maris Catholic Primary School)

Marina
Right next to Point Cook will be a new marina at Wyndham Harbour. As well as 1000 wet berths, there will be a new beach, water front restaurants and cafes, and 12 hectares of public recreational space and wetlands. The development is proposed to start in 2010.
